Stage Fright
Stage
Fright
This
poem is about a girl, who has stage fright. And it was her first dance
competition. Millions of people
suffer from performance anxiety, commonly called "stage
fright." In fact, most people would rather get the flu than perform.
Athletes, musicians, actors, and public speakers often get performance anxiety.
Performance anxiety can prevent you from doing what you enjoy and can affect
your career. Performance anxiety, often known as “stage fright,” is
clinically diagnosed as social anxiety or social phobia. It is severe
situational anxiety that arises when performers believe they are not able to
control their behaviour in front of an audience.
Nervous from fright
Scared of death
The world is closing
Upon me
Nervous from fright
Keeping up with all my might
My mind is running
My heart is breaking
Nervous from fright
I am trembling
With Fear
My mouth is dry
My throat is tight
I am guaranteeing
This is for your well being
It’s tough, stage fright
You have to aim right
My eyes are blurry
My hands are sweating
Be brave
Don’t be a slave
